An ongoing campaign to promote Maori Television, through press, outdoor and onscreen executions. The compaign combines the Maori tradition of storytelling and the European tradition of illustrated lettering in Fairy-tale books. A modern re-interpretation of Maori mark-making (traditionally expressed through wood-carving and tattooing) was designed, in consultation with Maori Television's cultural advisors, and developed into a graphic language that can be applied across a range of executions and media to create a dynamic and instantly recognisable visual identity for Maori Television. The campaign has been applied across magazine and outdoor advertising, TV ads, newspaper and direct mail campaigns.
